09/10/2006: The Horse Loom aka Steve Malley from The unit ama.

In a quiet corner of an end terrace in Heaton, a man of some notable talent and two others with but a shred of knowledge and experience between them prepared to embark on the maiden voyage of Bear Bones Radio. All was not plain sailing however for this skeleton crew, but once technical difficulties and power cuts had been overcome, The Horse Loom (that's the talented one), took to his hard back chair, and swallowed the room in the most luxuriant of sounds. It's difficult for me to describe just what goes on when The Horse Loom plays, but it is undoubtedly special, and unbelievably captivating. That night, even with its many setbacks was no exception. Steve Malley, for it is he who is The Horse Loom, played an exquisite set that we'll be hard pressed to match; and his patience (and indeed tolerance) in the face of adversity will long be appreciated and remembered.
